Privacy policy

Information we use

When you create an account, we receive your account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and profile image when available. If you choose Google sign-in, we request only your basic profile and email information, not access to your Gmail, contacts, or Google Drive.

We store the information you choose to save: auditions, personal notes, preparation progress, reminders, email preferences, import drafts, submissions, and corrections. We use it to provide those features and help you manage your auditions.

We also collect operational information to run and secure the service, including request routes, response status, timing, and error logs. Our application’s usage counters do not store IP addresses, search terms, or browser identifiers. Hosting and authentication providers may process connection and security information such as IP addresses.

Private preparation and public submissions

Your saved auditions, notes, preparation progress, and personal audition imports are private to your account within the app. They are not published in the public audition directory. Authorized service administrators may access stored information to operate the service and respond to support requests.

When you use “Share an audition” or suggest a correction, you are submitting that information for review and possible publication. Public listings include information collected from audition notices on other websites.

Service providers and AI processing

We use Clerk for authentication, Render for hosting and database storage, Resend for application email, and Proton Mail for support correspondence. These providers process information needed to deliver their services. Your browser also connects to providers that deliver the site’s scripts and sign-in interface.

OpenAI processes audition notice text and screenshots to help extract and organize audition details. When you request a personal import, the source content or screenshots you provide are sent for this processing. Community audition submissions may also be processed to prepare a draft for review. Avoid including unrelated private information in an import or submission.

Casting.you does not retain uploaded screenshot files after processing; extracted drafts and saved audition details remain in your account. Provider handling of submitted data is also subject to their applicable policies. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Cookies, email, and your choices

We use cookies for sign-in, sessions, and security. You can browse public auditions without an account, but account features require these cookies. You can manage audition email alerts on your account page or use the unsubscribe link in an alert.

We retain account information and saved content to provide the service until you remove it or request deletion. Operational records and backups may remain for security, recovery, or legal needs. Signing out or removing a Google connection does not by itself delete your Casting.you data.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your account information, contact help@casting.you. We may ask you to verify account ownership before handling a request.
