Playing age, Equity, understudy… what do these mean?

Playing age is how old a character appears, which may differ from your own age. Equity is the actors’ union; check each theatre’s eligibility rules. An understudy learns a role to perform when the main actor is unavailable.

What does it pay?

Actors receive $1,020 total, including a $150 rehearsal stipend and $30 per performance for 29 performances. Understudies receive $530, including one guaranteed performance, and $30 for each additional performance.

Contract: Non-Equity
