The role
Union information: Non-Equity. Check the theatre’s instructions for who may audition.
George’s father and the town doctor. He is dutiful and believes others should be as well. Knowledgeable and aware of what’s going on in the town. A Civil War expert. He truly loves his family, though it may be difficult for him to say it.
Emily’s father and the publisher of the town paper. Hard-working, good-natured, and always ready to roll up his sleeves and dig in. He has a soft spot for his daughter Emily.
Playing age is how old a character appears, which may differ from your own age. Equity is the actors’ union; check each theatre’s eligibility rules. An understudy learns a role to perform when the main actor is unavailable.
The commitment
$150 stipend. Understudies will receive a guaranteed performance.
