Who they’re looking for

Union information: Non-Equity. Check the theatre’s instructions for who may audition.

  • Possible British accent required

MISS SCARLET

Playing age: 25+

Female; a dry, sardonic D.C. madam interested in secrets; beautiful, forthright, self-confident yet dangerous, with her own agenda; can get what she wants by fair means or foul and sweet-talk herself out of trouble. Smart and in charge, she runs a very successful business, albeit a little nefarious, and is in control of her life as she sees it.

MRS PEACOCK

Playing age: 40+

Female; the churchgoing wife of a senator, accused of taking bribes for her husband; concerned with outward appearances and propriety, batty, neurotic, reactive and quick to hysteria.

MRS WHITE

Playing age: 40+

Female; pale, morbid and tragic; may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands; has a white-hot temper and is stoic, intelligent and dangerous.

COLONEL MUSTARD

Playing age: 45+

Male; a puffy, pompous, dense, high-ranking military man; rumors surround black market deals and treasons and paying to keep secrets. Likes women but doesn't know how to talk to them; repeatedly attempts to take charge but is generally incompetent and rarely actually does anything.

PROFESSOR PLUM

Playing age: 25+

Male; an academic Casanova, sleazy and suggestive; says he is a psychiatrist working the World Health Organization. His medical license was revoked after he slept with a patient; arrogant and easily impressed by himself.

MR GREEN

Playing age: 25+

Male; a timid, officious rule follower who is a klutz and anxious; revealed as an FBI agent and must have the ability to contrast character.

  • Ability to contrast character

YVETTE

Playing age: 20+

Female; a French maid with secret aspirations, formerly an informant for Mr. Boddy and connected to some guests; appears refined, innocent and flirtatious at first, but is less innocent as the night progresses.

  • French accent required
